This is a severe form of karma that abruptly cuts off one’s happiness and prosperity. Every ill intention and act of greed (Abhijjha) is instantly recorded in the consciousness. Historically, the consequences of insulting these sacred powers often bring "heat" and suffering to invading dynasties or individuals, manifesting as violent power shifts and a loss of international honor.

Despite numerous attempts at destruction, the "Golden Weapon" of our Khmer ancestors remains the spiritual merit (Barami) embedded deep within the temple stones. The strange phenomena and miracles often reported by those who attempt to violate the site are viewed as the defensive actions of deities working to repel "unwholesome atoms" from the sanctuary.
